Weight distribution is the ability of a hitch to transfer the tongue weight of your trailer ahead to the tow vehicle axles, and backward to the trailer axles. Weight Distribution is essential to keep your tow vehicle's front wheels in firm contact with the road.

Without good weight distribution, your tow vehicle 'teeter-totters' on the rear axle of the tow vehicle, which unweights the front axle. This can cause an uncomfortable and sometimes dangerous loss of steering and braking control, highway hop, or wandering instead of tracking properly down the highway.
